    Henry Brem was born August 14, 1952 He was graduated from New York University, Cum Laude; Harvard Medical School, M.D., Cum Laude; 1978 internship at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospitals; Neurosurgery and Ophthalmology fellowship at Johns Hopkins and Neurosurgery Residency at Neurological Institute of New York 1979-1984.

    He is the Harvey Cushing Professor of Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, and Oncology; Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery; and Director of the Hunterian Neurosurgical Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

    He is the year 2000 recipient of the Grass Award of the Society of Neurological Surgeons and is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.

    He is married to Rachel Frydman Brem, M.D. and they have three daughters.
